OK, I don't think anyone really denies that it is ultimately every mom's decision.

Heehee, yeah, I don't even lurk on any of the other debate boards, since I can't imagine how worked up I'd get :)

It's also fun to see how many times you avoid answering direct questions ;)

Why are these factors missing in BF kids if the risk of various illnesses is independent of how one gets fed? Wouldn't we all start off with the same blank slate? A ff kid may have "bad genes," but that's cancelled out by the bf kid with "bad genes." Are you saying the kids being bf are starting off with better genes? That's really the only way to account for the variation if your "genetics is where it's at" theory is to stand up to scrutiny.

I think you will find most people on this board really "let their hair down" here where they wouldn't IRL. ;-)

I did once make the mistake of suggesting my nephew's bronchiolitis was "because he wasn't BFed" to my SIL before I realized just how personally she'd take it and just how hot a topic it is. That was before having kids even, it was just my common sense saying "if FFed kids get sicker more often maybe he's sick b/c of that".

But in general I don't make comments (now) unless asked or in a prenatal BF class (haven't given any of those in about 2 years but I used to teach them regularily).
