Ok, we need to get back to debating - so I typed "formula is evil" into Google & found most were saying,

~*~ Catherine, mom to three grown men - Jason, Michael & Joshua and Granma to Christopher & Leia.

That's mostly it. If you stick only to facts and science then there isn't nearly as much to debate. With opinions and emotions, there is a lot more to debate.

Please forgive me for having a busy life and not being able to respond to you immediately.

Forgive my repetiviness (sp?), as I'm sure this has already been asked...

Did your physician and/or you consult Hale?

It seems living in the Caribbean can limit your ability to donate, according to this one: http://www.sccgov.org/portal/site/mmb/agencychp?path=%2Fv7%2FMother%27s%20Milk%20Bank%20(PRG)%2FFAQs#area If you lived there in the past 12 months they will need to scrutinize you extra, at a minimum.

It also seems M2M isn't recommended here, I would think it'd be a greater concern in a developing country. You'd really want to know the other woman, here or there. And given her culture has issues with other things like this, not just milk donation, she might have a hard time finding someone she knows willing to do it (and she herself isn't willing).

I posted a lactivist blog who said she'd hesitate and might not seriously consider taking M2M milk, so it's not just Lee or just those making uninformed, emotional decisions.

Why do you believe that even with all the facts, people still wouldn't choose formula?

Oh, they would.

" Ok, so there is nothing to debate, formula is bad. The good thing is the smart people are breastfeeding and the dumb people are formula feeding so the world will soon right itself :)

THIS is the kind of post someone reads and all of a sudden the entire board is labeled as FF bashers.

LMBO, that's one huge bridge you've built to connect those two ideas.

I'm pretty sure Lee hit 2, followed up with clarification regarding 3, and followed 5, 6, 7, 8 and 11. 1 did not apply to her, and neither did 4, 9 or 10.

Did I break any of those rules? Since you said I don't know what a debate was (I forget the exact quote).

I missed where it said facts and science come before opinion.

>>>Did your physician and/or you consult Hale?<<<

Why is it that so many assume I did not?

It is not repetitive because it was not asked. The last person who mentioned it said she'd assume I knew what I was talking about. I do.

Yes, this exhange, while it might seem tangent at times is right on point. It's easy to picture in this context. Easy to see where the "formula is evil" comes from.>>>

Quoting three people without the ability to change colors...;O)

This is a good reason for the kinds of diatribes I have seen written about us on other boards, and even in comments to blogs in the past (remember those gems?). A fly-by-night lurker isn't going to necessarily know which "side" a poster is on, and this could way misconstrued, if it hasn't been already, that is. I'm making popcorn right now...

I think the reason so many make that assumption is that not many people know about Mother's Milk and Medications.
