"Ok so it would be correct for me to say all BF babies have guts sealed properly and all FF babies have improperly sealed guts?"
AFAIK, yes.

>>>>Didn't say that. What I said is that screened, pasteurized donor milk is safer than formula.<<<<
Are you referring to milk banks (which are recommended above formula, but not even available to Lee, myself and others like us), or are you including M2M milk which the AAP and LLL rank below formula wrt to safety (they don't recommend it at all).

>>>>Stop taking it so personally! So many doctors and patients are uninformed about the risks of breastfeeding and taking medication (I was certainly one of them) that a line of inquiry is going to be pursued if you post about it on the debate board. It's not a comment on your intelligence or your knowledge. No one is berating you. In fact, quite a few posters have complimented you on being so informed. The fact is, though, most people aren't.<<<<
I am not taking it personally, nor did I accuse anyone of berating me - it's a debate board and I have no issue with debating any issue. The fact is however that I posted about it twice, saying really it really was not safe and I really do know this and am informed (once in this thread, once in the working and EBF thread) and I was still questioned, several times over in fact. I'm not taking it personally but at some point it gets a little ridiculous.

"If we go through the thread I believe there were a number of reasons donor milk isn't for her, not just one reason and not because of mad cow disease specifically."
Well, she did say she wouldn't use it, even if it were available (so that takes away the logistics argument), even if it were screened, even if it were pasteurized....... the only thing left is 'eeeeewwwwww', which was her first knee-jerk response anyway (paraphrasing, but 'i would never give something from the body of a stranger to my baby' sure sounds like 'eeeewwww' to me).
"We accept that the AAP and LLL won't recommend M2M ..."
Two things, first LLL is not a medical org, so they can't "recommend" anything, even if they wanted to.

What I am challenging is the notion that formula is safer.

"What would you say if tests show that my DD's gut is properly sealed and she was not exclusively BFed for 6 months?"
I don't understand the question - First I thought you had said your dd was ebf for 6 mos?
"Are you referring to milk banks (which are recommended above formula, but not even available to Lee, myself and others like us), or are you including M2M milk "
I am referring to both.
>>>(LLL is not a medical org - they don't recommend anything)<<<
The leaders are supposed to recommend against M2M if speaking to a mom who is considering it. Link provided earlier.
>>>The AAP does not recommend formula for normal, healthy babies, except in exceedingly rare cases where bm is contraindicated. So, nobody recommends formula either. lol<<<
You say they recommend it rarely, then that nobody recommends it. That's a contradiction. They recommend formula rarely, they don't recommend M2M ever (reasons for that previously explained and accepted).
