Why do a lot of BF moms

try to convince FF that only Breast is right? Shouldn't it be left to everybody to make their own choices and not be judged by it? There is a lot of times that I don't agree with somebody's parenting choice, but it's none of my business (unless there is abuse of course). So why is it that some women can't accept the fact that others just don't want to BF?

I consider myself mildly intelligent, and well informed, but to me it didn't convince me that the benefits of BF would outweigh the fact that I just didn't like it. I think that formula is perfectly fine, and to this day can't tell a difference between my kids and BF kids. And I don't think I ever will.

So why is it so hard to accept somebody's choice? If I buy a car and you like another one better, I don't think you would try to convince me to buy your choice. Eventhough it might be rated better.

well, i think that's why we're here. to debate the choice...however, i don't think the car analogy works. sure, we're consumers when we purchase cars (and formula), but bm isn't a consumer good.

otherwise...why ever would you say "mildly intelligent?" don't sell yourself short;)

I don't think the car analogy is half bad.

I am suprized at how many ff have commented that bf "try" to convince ff to bf. I would be interested in a poll on that. I personally didn't try convinced, but however incouraged it because of how wonderful it was for me. I'm wondering do you try to convince anyone to ff because of how great it worked for you? Maybe convinced isn't the right word, but if a expecting mom were to ask you what you thought of bf vs ff you probably wouldn't say "bf is so great, and I recommend it to everyone"

okay, this is different than how i read your poll. should've read this first...

i usually say, bf was really tough in the beginning (details as needed), but its worked really well for us. however, there's a lot of bad advice out there, so a really great support network (details about lc's as needed - for example ones where i delivered were prett lacking) is useful. its also far more convenient than i ever realized. otherwise, i haven't ff'd so i can't say how that goes.

Because this is a debate board about ff and bfing. If we just sit back and accept each others choice nicely what fun would the debate be? Most have said they only say most of what they say here not irl. Why can't some ffers understand that? That we are only saying over and over breast is best because this is a debate board? (edited to run spell check, lol)

The spell check thing is soooo funny!! I never thought about spell checking here. I have seen many postings where people critisize how others miss spell words all the time. They use the fact that the ones that miss spell has lack of intellegence, or maturity. I just didn't think that these are the same people who probably spell checks all of their posts....too funny!! I could be bothered!! But now that you pointed it out...I think I will do it more often here....hehehehe!!

Well, I never try to convince anyone IRL, nor do my friends. We give advice if asked. So I'm not sure why people do it IRL. Off the top of my head, I would say it is because they believe the choice does matter.

As to this debate board, I like the debate boards better than the support boards, and I felt that I could debate this subject. Some are waaaayyyy too emotional for me, such as abortion, religion or spanking. Others I have no experience with, such as adoption. And one is over my head, which is the vax board.
