A meme acts as a unit for carrying
Interesting because just the other day I came across this quote:
"Breastfeeding rights was an early internet meme and has been a remarkably long lived one. I'm amazed that issues ever arise anymore but I guess they still do or there wouldn't be anything stories for these people to talk about."
"You'd be amazed at how cyclical this thing is. I worked at Target.com answering emails in the 90's (glamourous right?) and every six months we'd get a new wave of breastfeeding stories shared via web and email. There's something about these stories that really connect with certain people and they have to share it. I absolutely agree with them as I'm sure most people do, but there's something sticky in the story that makes people go crazy."

The saying 'Breast is best' would I believe be a meme. It is something that as a saying has become embedded in people's minds. It is embedded as a saying, even when people do not necessarily know about or believe the various proven risks of formula.
