Interesting...a study out of the University of Iowa found that 70% of women had bigger feet five months after giving birth, and the change is likely permanent.

Did your shoe size change after kids?

I thought everyone knew this! I know I read it in some of the books and articles I read while pregnant. And yes, I went from a 7 1/2 to an 8 after my kids were born, and I did not add any extra weight. But I will point out that it's not just childbirth that causes foot size to change. The people at the store where I buy my running shoes measure you every single time because your feet change size and shape throughout life.

Yes, during and after pregnancy I needed shoes a half size larger, and went from narrow to medium witdth. My feet stayed that size for over 20 years, then after menopause returned to the previous length and got a little narrower, but not enough for Narrow width shoes.
