Why are we here on this board? We all agree with each other. Routine male infant circumcision in the US is dying its long awaited and inevitable death.
When did we last have a pro-circ point from any poster to consider? I have done my best to invite any parents across iVillage with a pro or undecided point of view about male circumcision (infant or older) to debate with us.
I'm your CL on a debate board with nothing to debate. Some of you will say, again, that we have lurkers who will read and take in our information. But do we do it any better than iVillage's Foreskin Support board -

My point is that we have become a superfluous addition to these support boards, when our purpose should be to debate with those who are staunch believers in male circumcision. We can't fulfill our role when we have no one to debate with.
I did offer an alternative which no one has commented on yet. But, frankly, when push comes to shove, aren't we better employed adding our voice to the swell of anti-circ opinion embodied in the many internet support boards?

As the economy comes back and white babies are born again the circ rate will be way above 60%. The low for 1999 was due to white Americans not breeding.......Living in Hawaii we have a circumcision rate well above 90%.
Michael, The economy has little to do with whites having babies.
Also, no where in the 50 states is the circumcision rate "well above 90%."
Frank... MaiTai's return is proving my point.
Is he offering considered and healthy debate? Obviously the answer is "no". I have welcomed him again in the hope he can take stock and join us as an adult to discuss his standpoint with intelligent and persuasive argument.
I fear he never will. (MaiTai - any comment?)
He is apparently the best we can hope for, and his 'best' is simply not good enough - unless his input changes. Remember Baby4Me2 on the old BabyCenter debate board? You weren't around at its demise, of course, but she was the troll who caused it to be finally shut down.
