Why are we here on this board? We all agree with each other. Routine male infant circumcision in the US is dying its long awaited and inevitable death.

When did we last have a pro-circ point from any poster to consider? I have done my best to invite any parents across iVillage with a pro or undecided point of view about male circumcision (infant or older) to debate with us.

I'm your CL on a debate board with nothing to debate. Some of you will say, again, that we have lurkers who will read and take in our information. But do we do it any better than iVillage's Foreskin Support board -

Hi Christopher - I apologize for chiming in late. I don't check in here much any more, in part because there doesn't seem to be much activity (hence your question, of course), and in part because I despise the new format, and I hate change!

I agree that your question deserves consideration. Have we outlived our usefulness? While I have always been a strong proponent of "remember the lurkers!", there isn't much for lurkers to learn when there are no new topics for debate. And a slow board (in spite of your best efforts to keep things moving) doesn't generate bookmarks, especially when there are a lot of other opportunities to read about the topic.

Yes Mark, obviously I agree with you. It's a connundrum, I wish it were not so.

Traci... thank you for your reply. I don't have the time to answer you fully right now, but I will.

Facebook (FB :smileywink:) I have staunchly stayed clear of. It's huge across the world and has been the catylist for sickening outcomes of suicide and sexual abuse (even muder). I have no doubt it is also a haven for loving, caring people like you - and I wasn't aware that private groups could be set up.

Then there's the odd way messages are sent: third person. "XYZ says..." But perhaps this has changed now?

I will post again as soon as I can.
