The last thread on this board was posted 5 months ago. The last post on any thread was posted a full month ago - and that was one of mine.

I have returned here every day since then (bar twice when my broadband was down) and discovered nothing more. This is now a ghost board... and iVillage, for reasons best known to itself, simply allow it to remain.

Most who once posted here regularly will know that I have made strident efforts to encourage pro-circ parents to visit us and post their opinions. Most will also know that I have discussed at length my idea to persuade iVillage to allow the introduction of a new group reflecting the issues of circumcision among American families today when nearly half of its population has chosen to bring up their boys intact. Both views are very important to these families; both look for support. Some may wish to debate their inclination one way or the other.

I have yet to hear from iVillage, but I have not given up yet.

In the meantime I will continue to visit this board to look for a pro-circ poster willing to actually debate the subject of infant circumcision. I will go further and welcome any advocate of circumcision for adults also (in the light of some people's advocacy for global male circumcision after the African drive, which was supported financially by the USA).

I will return each day to note - on this thread - a response from anyone. But my count will continue until we receive something from any person with a genuine pro-circ standpoint. Tomorrow will be day 29. This is not some foolish game. I want to bring some life to this board, or let it die a peaceful death.

I intend to try using search engines - Google, Ask Jeeves, Yahoo! etc. with pertinent keywords that may direct a searcher to iVillage. I ask you to do the same if you think it's worthwhile.

Hello Federico,

Yes there is clearly very little appetite for debate - born out by this board's demise. I'm hoping, by choosing a name carefully, that a new group in iVillage will generate daily posts equal to BabyCenter's Questioning Circumcision and Raising Intact Boys.

A Peaceful New Year to you!

Hi Christopher,

I have not been as dedicated as you, and only check out this board every month or so. You should be commended for your vigilance.

I do believe the reason for lack of discussion is that there is really nothing to discuss. The pro-circ arguments have been debunked by many here, so what can they say? As far as I know there's really nothing new out there that might be considered "proof" that RIC is beneficial in any way. Of course, I don't try to find anything either :).

I'll be checking back in, maybe a little more often, hoping to find something to debate or add my two cents to.
