Good... and thank you.

I hope for at least a couple more replies.

In order to survive this board needs to move toward a new direction, I'm behind the idea 100%.

Elissa, thank you! You have indicated as much before - but 100% can't be bettered.

I fear it may be a struggle without the support from ALL our very few remaining regulars here. Federico is in agreement -

To Frank, if you are still here and willing to contribute...

Is this the 'Jake' we both know so well?

Dear all, My apologies for being AWOL, but I am on vacation (or on holiday, as Christopher would say) and my access to a PC has become rather sporadic.

I have just been following the thread and yes, I guess that we have to face the evidence and change with the times. As I mentioned earlier, going with the titles (some of them quite hilarious) that I have seen thrown around here may trigger the rebirth that we seek (but please, forget about the one on "sisters and their foreskinned brothers" or whatever it was!).

Also as I mentioned before, debate should not be stifled in any way. While we may get more traffic from genuine parents legitimately curious rather than deliberately dubious characters like Jake (yes, Christopher, he is that one), we may still get well-meaning parents that are nonetheless on the defensive, ready to jump at the first perception of a threat, real or imagined, against their belief in circumcision, whether based on old-wives tales or simply religion. We would then need to be prepared for a debate without our hands preemtively tied. Can the powers that be, as well as ourselves, guarantee that freedom in the new format?

Regards,

Federico.

Federico...

" We would then need to be prepared for a debate without our hands preemtively tied. Can the powers that be, as well as ourselves, guarantee that freedom in the new format?"

When I first made a decision, way back in 2002, to seek help online for my distress at being newly circumcised as an adult, all I found was Circlist and a bunch of American males talking about 'style' and 'effect' with graphic photos and ribald remarks. Naively, I had hoped for some understanding and serious answers. Instead, responses were along the lines of: "Hey dude! Quit whining, get a life and send us a pic!" I was very clearly in the wrong place, to put it mildly - and can laugh about it now.

So I found BabyCenter and its never-bettered 'To circumcise or not to circumcise' board. I learned about RIC in the US as a FACT. My disbelief of rumours we had heard in the UK was turned head on tail. I was stunned.

After some time in real debate with parents from both sides of the fence, I posted a thread entitled: 'An American Tragedy'. I still stand by its content.

Therefore, Federico, in today's happy climate of circumcision's non-debate, be assured that if I have any final influence in the formation of a new group, debatable content from "well-meaning" parents or individuals will be debated. I have said as much already. But the fine line between 'debate' and 'discussion' must promote our wish to explore and never denounce opposing views among parents who have chosen to circumcise their boys - or those who left them intact at birth but are now questioning or regretting their decision.
