Swazi King Endorses Mass Circumcision in Fight Against HIV
Fri, 07-15-2011 - 2:45pm

HIV infects one in four adults in Swaziland, and the king is hoping to fight the virus by asking men in the country to get circumcised: http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5iT0NSlsc49kNOOXBvP3OPF_dnq3A?docId=CNG.3e5722dde060566b580b880a295c76a5.511

Any thoughts on the article?

Thanks for posting this interesting report melissa. I think the most telling paragraph in the article was this:

Urging his nation to "take care of your lives -- stay away from activities that could give you the disease," the king struck a very different note from his pronouncement to parliament a decade ago that HIV-positive people should be "branded and sterilised".

Seems like the guy has grown up and matured!

Nevertheles he will have critics of this decree. I do grow weary of those who don't want to credit the role of male circumcision in helping to reduce this disease and of course other STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections)
