little boy with a UTI

today I saw a poor little boy he had a really bad infection that started is a UTI and then spread to his kidneys. The Dr. on his six-year-old boy circled the word uncircumcised on his paperwork is if this was part of the cause of the UTI. I do not think the boy being uncircumcised had anything to do with it . the Doc theory was that he had a retractable foreskin and he was not wash under it and tha tMaybe what caused the UTI. The mother says she told him to Wash it but she never actually showed him how to wash under it. and had Not seen him wash it in a long time. is he was taking a shower by himself. I still do not think that the cause of the UTI had anything to do with the fact that he was uncircumcised.

What do you think do you think being uncircumcised ias a six-year-old can cause a UTI.

I'd love to see lots of answers this place has been really slow lately.

Thanks. J-Save

I hope the little guy gets appropriate treatment, which does not include circumcision!

Being intact does not cause UTI. Bacteria causes UTI. UTI's are very common in females, and very rare in males, both circumcised and intact. It happens.

It is a sad fact that in North America many doctors will blame a UTI in a male child on his foreskin - if he has one. However UTIs also occur in circumcised children.
