There has been a slow start to our new format under 'Circumcision' - several 'views' on all three groups, but next to no replies.

My thread heading addresses a thought I have often wondered about with American parents who choose to keep their boys with foreskins

It seems that nothing has given parents satisfaction in leaving their boys intact. Or is this absence of replies a silent protest against the new iVillage format on the subject of circumcision?

I see it as an opportunity to express our convictions for the good of boys - and help others to discuss any practical, medical or family issues that arise. If you read a thread and have anything to contribute, please do!

I'll reply.  My dh and I decided to leave our two boys intact.  They are 7 and 3 years old now and have had no problems at all with their intactness - and I'm not surprised.  Of course, they don't notice anything different about their parts compared to that of their daddy (who is circ'd) and of their older 16 y.o. brother's (He was cut at my exH's insistence, after much arguing, I lost.)    It's really a non-issue around here.  I'm very satisfied with our decision to leave them they way they came into the world.  A foreskin is not a birth defect.  It's their choice - not mine, IMHO.  And when they are old enough, and can afford to pay for it - they are free to have their body modified anyway they want - tattoos, piercings, circumcision, etc.
