At least 51 people, including 20 children, were among the victims of an enormous tornado that roared through the suburbs of Oklahoma City Monday, pulverizing entire city blocks and leaving behind miles of mangled cars and splintered wood.
Officials warned the death toll was likely to climb, making it among the deadliest tornadoes in U.S. history.
The news is just heartbreaking this morning. Anyone here live close to the area? My thoughts and prayers are with everyone there. So devastating.
I finally had to flip the news off. The stories are just so tragic. Each time I hear about the schools, my heart breaks. Such a tragedy. I just can't even imagine living through something like that.
I watched coverage of this last night and it was heartbreaking. They said people were digging in the rubble with their bare hands to get those children out of the collapsed school. As a mother/grandmother, I can not begin to imagine the terror in those people's hearts as they were looking for their children. It is heartbreaking beyond words.

It's just so devestating. Being in NJ and having family in Staten Island, I know what it's like to have mother nature wreak her havoc and destroy. We're still rebuilding from Sandy and Athena. I can't even fathom what OK is going through. :(
