I thought we had all gone over this before and determined that Obama was not in Ayers living room, that the first fundraiser ever held for Obama was held in Ayers living room.

isn't this the same question you keep asking?

http://messageboards.ivillage.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=iv-psmomspol&msg=4111.1&ctx=128

so i will refer to my previous answer.

and i will ask my question again: would you, as an adult, sleep in the bed with someone who gave money to support your state's succession from the US, even if that person was your husband? It's a stupid question but ... it fits this discussion.

Begining to sound like a broken record much. We get the hint you will not be voting for Obama.

But do realize that we as the USA have supported terrorists in our past when it had benefited us. We have given weapons and money to any number of organizations, when it benefited us. In order to wipe out one bad guy, we are willing to give stuff to the other bad guy to do our dirty work. And when in the Middle East who ever is willing to keep our oil supply going. Do I see anybody refusing to use gas, or oil? Because I bet it comes from a nation who supports terrorism.

It has always been a matter of which devil we wanted to support at what time/ Don't you think it was quite amazing that the Iran hostages back in 1978 were released the moment that Reagen was swore into office after Jimmy Carter spent all that time trying to negoiate? Ever hear of the IranContra dealings?

If you really want to learn your history I suggest you do more research thAn what you have been doing.

Also Timothy McVeigh was our very own home grown terrorist. He never once set foot in a foreign country. Are you going to penalize people associated with him just because they attended the same schools?

O am sure I can come up with more stuff to prove that no one is a total angel. But if you are going to dwell on Obama. Then i can point out that many of your Republicans who are here right now probably served some where in the Reagan/ Bush years so trust me they are not in the dark.

BUT Obama was in Ayers' LIVING ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That kind of different than being in a classroom with someone!!!

He associated with him and to me that is more than a casual friend especially if Ayers did hold

It really depends on what you call aquainted. You don't think McVeigh kept his opinions to himself? You do know there were people helping him Although he was the only one who got the death penalty.

You don't know what happens when kids talk in a classroom or even in their own living room. Is it guilt by association? Or not? I am not sure how old you are. So guarentted you have not lived through the 60s or even aquainted with many people who were.

The Black Panthers, The students protests.

And I hate to say this based on what i am reading about Ayers he was just as much of a 1960s mentality at the time. A time when people were protesting the Vietman war, The Civil rights movement. Womens Lib was still in its infancy.

You are comparing a 1960s radical typical of that time frame to men flying planes into buildings in the name of religion. Islam.

The 1960ws were just a very turbulent times in USA history. Many people back then did things as radical teens trying to protest what they felt were wrong.

Would you protest someone like Jefferson Davis who helped seccesion of the USA and became President of the COnfederacy?

Jessie Helms a US Senator was a racist and very much in line with many of the current Republican line of thinking I bet he may have been part of the KKK in his past, David Dukes who ran for office was.

Again no one is perfect
