What I believe to be true (not 100% but this is what I think I remember reading) is that Kerry purposely filed separately from his wife so that her financial info wouldn't have to be released.

As a veteran tax preparer, I have to tell you that people pay ncome tax based on *income* and not on their assets.

if a person has millions in the bank then wouldn't he or she also have tons and tons of money in interest INCOME?


If a person has no income (or not much of one) how does he or she pay upkeep and taxes on homes - how do they live?


Ohhhh I know, I know ... by working the system.


And do you honestly think 250,000 is a ridiculous tax bill for someone who has/makes millions?

my understanding (and I could be wrong) is a married couple can file sep - but only one can file head of household
