Oh no Kate! You are military too girlfriend. I was just wondering where military stood on their candidate of choice. Where are ya'll stationed? If you don't mind my asking. We're at Randolph AFB, San Antonio.

My DH is Army National Guard and recently returned home from Iraq. We're currently living in NJ. I used to consider myself Independent but after the last few elections I'd say I'm definitely more of a Democrat and will be voting for Obama. DH has always been a Republican but he will be voting for Obama as well.
Congrats on having him home! How long was he in the sandbox? My son-in-law did two tours "over there" and two in D'Jibouti. They were stationed in Gulf Port. He came home 5 days before Katrina hit. They lived right on the coast and lost everything. He's a police officer now and rabidly Republican along with my daughter. I'm actually a registered Democrat but last couple of elections I've voted VERY conservatively. Of course I don't have that this time around, but I'll take what I can get. Lesser of two evils and all that.......

DH deployed last June. It was his first tour b/c he had just joined the National Guard about a year before deploying. He actually had only been signed to a one year contract (due to a problem with his discharge papers from his previous military service) and was due to ETS prior to leaving for Iraq but he was stop-lossed. He's been home for a few months now and just officially ended time of service on 9/15. He now plans on re-enlisting with the NJ Guard or Reserves, he's still deciding which one to go with.
I can't imagine giving birth without dh. I know many wives have. Kudos to you, it must have been tough.
I'm glad he's home. It's a nice feeling.
9/11 we were statiioned at Sheppard AFB, TX. For those of you who don't know, it's a training base. My dh, like many others stationed there, was an instructor. It drove them CRAZY knowing they were "stuck" there, not being able to physically help in the fight. It was a very helpless feeling for most all.

On a DOD AF spouse's board that I'm a member of,
