I am beside myself with anger over the statement Obama made about treatable illnesses!

I think he cleared up at the debate that he voted against those bills because there was ALREADY a law in place that afforded those protections and the legislation was symbolic and intended to undermine Roe v. Wade - which Obama supports. I guess the bill also had the (unintended?) upside of making anyone voting against it look like a baby hating/killing animal.

It's a lot like the bill McCain voted against to fund the troops. Some could argue that he voted against the bill because he hates the troops and wants them all to die. OR you could look deeper into the issue and see that he disagreed with the bill because it was also largely symbolic (Bush had indicated he would Veto it) because it contained a timeline.

Does this mean that anyone who cares about our Military should NOT vote McCain? Using your logic it should mean exactly that.

Given some of the scandal in the catholic church, more specifically the sex abuse scandals, I can understand why some people might not agree with ALL of the catholic churches beliefs.

That's fine by me. I know this meant a lot to you because of your experiences with your brother, I just think it's clear he's not saying he doesn't want any asthmatics to use the ER when they are in a life-threatening situation, but just that someone who has no access to healthcare OTHER than the ER and has a treatable illness should really have more options.

The ER costs ALL of us, unfortunately.

Ladies....a quick reminder to stay on topic and avoid debating personal issues. As the election gets closer and closer tempers and passions will be running high...but we need to try and raise the level of debate here.

No, now you're generalizing. I guess generalizing is OK as long as you're an Obama supporter. :)

"In February, Farrakhan appeared at an annual Saviours' Day event in Chicago and called Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama the "hope of the entire world" that the U.S. will change for the better."

Of course you'll probably split hairs over these articles. :)

The same could be said for McCain supporters. Should they rethink their vote when you have whack jobs like Rev. Hagee and Jerry Falwell supporting him?>

Falwell is dead, so how could anyone listen to him? McCain denounced Hagee right after Hagee made those remarks. It took Barry a while to come out and denounce Farrakhan, which makes me wonder why. Maybe Obama got a big head over what Farrakhan had to say about him?

That's not a generalization, it's a facetious statement.
