I am beside myself with anger over the statement Obama made about treatable illnesses!

LOL, yeah, I always get my spiritual inspiration from some guy filming in his garage and posting on you tube.
Is there a reason you felt the need to post the same message 3 times? Once would have been sufficient - we all would have seen it.
I take issue with someone telling another that they are a bad Catholic/Christian/whatever. It's NO ONE'S place to decide that. But it's even worse when it is based on 1 issue. As a pp pointed out, there are many issues of concern to the Catholic church, and only some of them fall in line with the Republican Party platform. Who is "nana" to decide that someone is a bad Catholic b/c they deem another issue to be more important than abortion. It's offensive. I would never be so presumptuous as to say someone is a bad Christian because they vote Republican, and the Republicans dont do enough for the poor. How many references could I find in the bible where Jesus helps the poor. Oh wow, I guess all Republicans are bad Christians...
Debate the issues, not the person, and not the person's faith.

"Excuse me, but I have also pointed out several times that he should not generalize. he could have said any other illness, standard colds, a headache, any other obvious treatable illness instead of using something that truly has many different degrees of severity."
I work with a philanthropic foundation associated with one of the most prestigious children's hospitals in the country and one of the primary things they fund is the system of care for chronic illness (which asthma can be considered). One of their primary ways for telling that that system is working is reduced numbers of visits to the ER for treatment (asthma is one of the illnesses they have specified, as are diabetes related issues). Of course there are degrees of severity so "reduced number of ER visits" would be relative depending on the case but still, the point is to reduce the use of the ER to treat chronic illness. I am really trying to see your objection to the Obama quote and I get that he was generalizing but wouldn't you agree that in general, we do want to reduce the number of ER visits that could have been prevented?

Oh my gosh, I seriously laughed out loud when I read that!

<<That's a legitimate question but I'm not the one to debate the answer with you. I'm not Catholic and don't know all of their teachings. I just think the attack on Patty was uncalled for. She made an observation and was reamed for something she didn't say.>>
you dont have a clip of doug, the garage man, explaining it?
