I'm laughing out loud as I type because the only thing I've really said in response to any of this (off-line) is "Holy Crap - what the HELL is wrong with people?!?"

I think Brown could get a boost from going after these people, because of how reprehensible their behavior was, but I think Whitman accusing him of only doing so out of political gain is likely to backfire for the same reason. So I agree with your "whatever".
I agree there isn't much to say about the situation other than your quote, or my husbands less board friendly suggestions.
I actually like Brown, but I think we're doomed anyway. No one can fix this mess.
