With the many discussions we've been having on women's rights and 2012 being dubbed "The Year of the Woman" I thought you might be interested in this piece we've been working on...

Let The Countdown Begin: Introducing the 50 Best to Worst States for Women

So far, my state (Colorado) hasn't made the list, but I'll be checking back to see when it comes up. Are you in the top 10 so far? What do you think of the states that are?

NY isn't in there either so don't feel bad Kelli. But amazingly enough so far the top 5 are the more liberal leaning states. And Massachuetts was one of them. And one of the reasons it is in the top 5 is because of a law that I believe Mitch Rommney enc and passed for all of its citizens to have health insurance!

And this is why we all need to have affordable insurance. Preventive medicine

I suspect that NM will not be ranked very highly. The governor is female but she's dead set on chopping most of the social safety nets to bits.

The state as a whole is one of the nation's poorest though it also has an enclave at Los Alamos which is one of the nation's richest. http://www.santafenewmexican.com/LocalNews/2010-census-Los-Alamos-wealthiest-county-in-the-West

As for the states which are most female friendly, no big surprise but most of them lean liberal.

Colorado is twelfth. Not bad!

Totally off topic here but is there a reason why some of the threads are being renamed at some point? Your thread on Viagra now has a "stupid" in its title starting at about post 28.
