Can someone please tell me why the Libs are always screaming about "fairness" for everything, but then turn around and expect unfair taxes on the rich?

No, it is not socialism, though TANF et al are social welfare programs.

I'm a little confused here...are you talking about the wealthy paying more in taxes for welfare? Because even in hard times...many do not turn to government assistance. Or are you referring to giving tax cuts to the working class? If you are referring to tax cuts...they certainly dont' take care of anyone. It's a little bit less off the shoulders of some...but it's not an extra means of income. When I get my tax check...it's a bonus that goes into savings or on something we really need but could not afford at another time. I don't count it as extra income in a way that helps me live better from day to day....nor is it any kind of supplement.

Then you're not talking about income taxes. What you've described is taking the net worth of an individual and applying a tax on that.

So you're for an annual estate tax? Never heard of such thing. That would certainly not encourage savings or investment. Not in this country. It would more so result in people putting their money outside of the country or will you advocate that someone should pay tax on the value of the house they own in a foreign country as well?

Why would you want a tax that penalizes savings? Don't we want to encourage that? Isn't that what we're missing?

If you want to tax me on the value of my mutual fund or stock portfolio does this mean in years when the value has decreased I'm going to now qualify for a tax rebate?

I'd like to hear more about how your plan would work.

And now he wants to rob poor Peter even further because Paul is never satisfied. Perhaps it's comes from being told how much government owes you and making you think you're suffering. Really it's the democratic party who is the master of fear mongering.

Have you seen the latest Obama ad aimed at the Hispanic population? It tells them how badly they've been treated and discriminated against because of their race....it's Obama playing the race card by turning one group against another instead of promoting mutual respect. Dangerous for our nation to say the least.

Read it and weep:

No, but have elsewhere, and then citing a website that promotes NGOs that fight for the South in redistribution of assets from developed countries strikes me as amusing.

Yep! That's what I read too. She's advocating an annual estate tax. Can you imagine?
