Can someone please tell me why the Libs are always screaming about "fairness" for everything, but then turn around and expect unfair taxes on the rich?

Actually mom, McCain's WIFE is the rich one Mom... if you want someone rich with his own money, you have to look at Kennedy...

Or maybe that other "trophy husband", Kerry?

I didn't mean to come across that people who aren't wealthy don't word hard - believe me, you have no idea how hard my parents have worked to get where they are, or how hard I've worked to get where I am. (and even when I could have continued to rec'v assistance, I didn't - b/c I do believe there are people out there who needed it more than I did, even though for a time I continued to qualify).

And while not everyone who earns a low income willingly do so, we can't lose sight of the fact that there are people who DO take advantage of the system, and EXPECT everyone else to take care of them so they don't have to take care of themselves. IMO the government healthcare program is an excellent example - can we REALLY not put the responsibility on parents to be sure their own children are insured? And if they're not, they will foot the bill? I see absolutely NO point in government healthcare, as I've already stated - when there are ALREADY programs being PAID FOR to help those who can't afford it themselves.

I never said there was anything wrong with paying taxes - that's not what I was referencing at ALL.

Why would you have to pay more because someone isn't using a specific program?

Well let's see, how exactly does the government plan on providing all these things Obama is promising? I highly doubt it will be coming out of his own pocket.

I assume you are talking about universal health care.

I completely agree that reform is needed, but I do not agree universal healthcare is the answer.
