I love Focus on the Family! They are so kind, fair, and unbiased. *eye roll*

An acquaintance of mine was told by a neighbor "If McCain wins, there will be race riots!"

His response was that if McCain loses, I guess we should fear a geriatric revolt, eh?

I have to agree with this statement. I don't personally think there is anything to fear from an Obama presidency but many people have been swayed by all the scare tactics being used. I don't think things would be nearly this negative if McCain supporters were actually enthusiastic about him as a candidate. It really seems as though, for many, he is just the "lesser of two evils". And so his supporters tend to be anti-Obama rather than pro-McCain. I think it's just the opposite for Obama supporters though. Most Obama supporters (IMO) are very excited about their candidate and are definitely pro-Obama rather than anti-McCain. Which is why I think Obama supporters in general seem to be more positive. You can see it on this very board. Most of the negative posts are anti-Obama statements and articles

"Have you heard about the letter that Focus on The Family just put out? It's filled with hate and lies. I am so concerned that one of these zealots is going to take things too far and the religious extreme right is encouraging it. "

Now that's just crazy!

Oh, that's right. James Dobson has NEVER said anything that was a lie, ever. *eye roll*

"Homosexuals are not monogamous. They want to destroy the institution of marriage. It will destroy marriage. It will destroy the Earth."

-On gay marriage, from The Daily Oklahoman, Oct. 23rd, 2004

You can believe that being gay is a sin, if that's what you think your Christianity calls you to do. But to say that "homosexuals are not monogamous" as a blanket statement for all homosexuals is ridiculous and a lie. Besides the fact that many, many heterosexuals are not monogamous, how do you explain legally married homosexual couples both in this country and in others that live in happy and monogamous relationships?

Prove to me that all "homosexuals are not monogamous," as James Dobson said, and I will believe that he's never said anything that was a lie or hate-filled.

"I think it's sad how frightened people are of Christians....just sad."

It's not just Christians, people are afraid of people who spread fear to make thier point or get their way.

Are you serious? I certainly hope not. You have absolutely nothing upon which to base these fear driven assumptions. Do you have any credible links to the 'information' you are disseminating? Even a semi credible link? I rather doubt it.
