Burning Quran endangers troops

KABUL, Afghanistan – The top U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan warned Tuesday an American church's threat to burn copies of the Muslim holy book could endanger U.S. troops in the country and Americans worldwide.
Meanwhile, NATO reported the death of an American service member in an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday.
The comments from Gen. David Petraeus followed a protest Monday by hundreds of Afghans over the plans by Gainesville, Florida-based Dove World Outreach Center — a small, evangelical Christian church that espouses anti-Islam philosophy — to burn copies of the Quran on church grounds to mark the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States that provoked the Afghan war.

Yes, and then there are the Christians who are killing Muslims.

This really, really bothers me. Why burn the Quran? Besides the fact that it could further endanger our troops,

Blame the media. They're the ones giving them a platform. What exactly is their agenda?
Not to mention radical Islamic terrorist don't need any excuses to kill Americans. So if they do--they're at fault, not the person who burned the quaran.

Our troops are moving targets in foreign countries. Wheres GB and his Honoring our troops? Why isn't he standing up to this guy telling him to knock it off. These people (Not all Muslims) are trigger happy. Any excuse will work. I don't want my son to be in the cross hairs.
We are suppose to have freedom of religion here. This nut in Florida doesn't even care that the troops are in more danger. The media has little to do with these nuts.

Interesting...so shouldn't we blame the extremists, not the religion? Why burn Qurans?

Not to mention the future repercussions of this. The reports and images will be used for years to come to recruit more terrorists.

Please point me to the part of my post where I suggested the extremists should not be blamed? In fact to quote myself I specifically said regarding the terrorists that they alone "should be blamed".
Why burn quarans? Stupidity, ignorance, freedom of speech, anger? Who cares?
The bigger question is why give them a platform? But that's a question for the media--not me. Apparently they have little regard for the troops but then again that's not a big secret. You'd think for once they might put the safety of our troops ahead of their ratings....nah.
