My favorite part of the article:
"I understand when you're running for office you sometimes think the world revolves around you."
The comments made by the President most assuredly apply to many of his critics in Congress, the Media, and the American Population. That Obama subscribes to the same thoughts does NOT mean they were directed at him.
Poor baby.
The Hitler reference took it too far, I think it will work against McCain.
I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure
"On an international stage, it's unlikely he was referring to members of Congress. "
HOWEVER, being as it was an international stage, I believe it was directed at his CRITICS in general, who hold that belief and as such was a way to further identify HIS position.
As for it hurting McCain or not, it will only matter to those who were never EVER going to vote for him in the first place. I don't think it affects the swing voters who are actually able to separate McCain from Bush as two totally separate people.

Does anyone else not see the irony in the title of this thread?

Hey, I just took it from the article.
I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure
"t surely couldn't have been his choice because he knew the audience he was address might be able to relate to the reference now could he? Of course not, that might mean admitting he's got a brain afterall. "
No kidding. It's not like he was in Australia when he made those comments! :)
