Apparently we'll be hearing more in the days to come, but in the meantime, McCain's own campaign

Oh, my....

I'd thought she just didn't understand what NAFTA meant.

Turns out she didn't know what countries are

is there any possibility that the staffers were lying? part of me wants to say "told ya she wasnt qualified" but any other part of me really wants to believe that she is not that ignorant.

She doesn't have a chance in 2012. The Republican Party is going to have to seriously revamp their message and find someone who is far more moderate and intelligent to carry on. She is obviously neither of those things.

And FWIW, I am horrified that someone who claimed proximity to Russia and Canada as being "foreing policy experience" doesn't know the countries of NAFTA.

<<"The relationship between Palin and McCain, in fact, had deteriorated in the final days of the campaign to the point that they were seldom talking.>>

if i were part of the staff and things were really as bad (and palin is really as dumb) as they are saying they are, i would feel morally conflicted. i really dont think i could work to put them in white house and still sleep well at night.

You know on paper (ie my voter registration card) I'm actually an independent, However as I mature and come to grips with what I believe in, I of course lean heavily towards the democratic party as I come from an Iowa farming family - and was raised with blue collar democratic values. I was amazed that McCain picked such an unqualified person to be his running mate. It showed me how out of touch with the educated female voting population that he really was and offended me to my core. He picked a woman to try and sway the hillary supporters who were upset that Obama beat her out but he had many well qualified, intelligent republican female candidates to choose from - why he picked a woman who didn't know that Africa is a continent or the countries that make up North America (did she even guess Canada or does she just think that's the unexplored part of alaska. Sheesh -
