can anyone else wear lipstick ever again

there are way more important things to discuss, but i am so annoyed that this is what consumes the headlines: barbs over lipstick.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080910/ap_on_el_pr/obama_lipstick

A) it is well documented: this is a metaphor that has been used by Obama before and by other politicians as well.

B) but Palin referred to herself as a hockey mom, then made a joke that this was the same as a pit bull with lipstick.

C) therefore any further reference to lipstick will be code for speaking about Palin.

is that the logic here? did i miss the memo?

My grandad used this saying for years....he said it all the time. I failed to see the controversy...but I am sure it will be headline news.

Straight talk and folksy metaphores are only to be used by Republicans.

It says we might be doomed. I guess personality is more important than issues to a lot of people...that would certainly explain 2 terms of Bush.

The game they all play is absolutely correct....because McCain said it about Hillary!

Doesn't it just mean trotting the same old ideas, and calling them something different?? ("dressing them up")

Yes, it does mean that. We say it in my office all the time.
