can anyone else wear lipstick ever again

there are way more important things to discuss, but i am so annoyed that this is what consumes the headlines: barbs over lipstick.

A) it is well documented: this is a metaphor that has been used by Obama before and by other politicians as well.
B) but Palin referred to herself as a hockey mom, then made a joke that this was the same as a pit bull with lipstick.
C) therefore any further reference to lipstick will be code for speaking about Palin.
is that the logic here? did i miss the memo?

If people are looking at this as a sexist remark from Obama and that he is calling Palin a pig, they need to find something better to do with their time.
I have heard the saying that Obama used about the pig and the lipstick.
On the contrary, one reason it's not a big deal is exactly because Palin had just used the lipstick metaphor herself.
McCain has already moved on to accusing Obama of supporting sex education for young children.
Hey, we have much more to fear from weapons of mass DISTRACTION.
The fact is, Obama was talking about McCain's policies. Go Google it. So, why can't we discuss McCain's policies? They ARE old.
He's going to continue putting American soldiers' lives at risk in Bush's illegal war,
He's going to keep Bush's tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, while Obama's trying to CUT taxes substantially for the majority of Americans -- the sixty percent of us making below $66,000 dollars will see a tax break that's three to six times as large as McCain's.
He's going to keep Bush's energy policies.
Really, in what way will McCain be substantially different? I can't believe people want four more years of this disaster.
Do you think it worth comment that the Democrat Chair of South Carolina, who happens to be a woman, today said Mc Cain picked a woman whose only qualification "seems to be that she has not had an abortion"?
"today said"
"too little, too late"
Wow! Same day apology is too little too late. Amazing.
"vicious attitude was already revealed."
The comment was peanuts compared to the smear that is regularly made against Obama and which has never been apologized for - and the attempted false innuendo and regular faux indignation that one reads every day in on this forum.

To be honest, I don't think it's worth a comment. At least not on this thread. Of course

actually i was looking for discussion of energy or the environment or economics or healthcare. but if you want to stick with the sparkly stuff, go ahead.
i could talk in response about the broadcaster who repeatedly called Barak Obama by his full name with special emphasis on "Hussein" - along with veiled accusations and insinuations about his lack of patriotism and his Muslim terrorist ties. But i guess that's not a smear since hi name is Hussein.
So did Palin have an abortion and is that why there's a problem? That's one rumor I had not heard.
