Conservative view: Financial Well-being?

An interesting article, with some very strong language:
>>one of the beliefs of the conservative mindset is that well being -- in this case, financial well being -- is a sign of moral virtue. The lack of well-being -- again, financial well-being -- must then be a sign of moral failing. The better off are better off because they are better people. Those who have less would be better off if they were better people.
Worldly success is an indicator of sufficient moral strength; lack of success suggests lack of sufficient discipline. Dependency is immoral. The undisciplined will be weak and poor, and deservedly so. <<

Enjoy! Or cringe if need be.

So tell me, would you accept what blatently conservative publications define as the "liberal view"?
HuffPo has about as accurate a view of how conservatives think as the John Birch Society does of liberals...
Here is an excerpt from George Lakoff (the man quoted in your link)-

I can tell you one person who would fit this description, my grandmother.
Of course it is extreme... HufPo has always had a tendency to demonize conservatives...
I don't know any conservatives who think the more you have the better, or more virtuous you are.

I guess you haven't been reading the 250K thread then. Because it appears to me that lots of people have this view.
The tolerance and understanding necessary to heal
must come from each and every one of us,
arising out of our everyday conduct until decency
reaches a flood tide. ~Muhammad Ali
