Could we fight another Revolutionary War

I heard a question several days ago and, as it happens, I am taking a class in US History so I thought it was rather interesting.

The question was that if today's US citizens were placed in the circumstance of colonists (not talking comforts, but ideals) would they be able and/or willing to fight a war for their freedom and liberty?

I think that in todays political climate it is something to ponder. People are so polarized by ideals it is really frightening. As it is now our country is the leader, the greatest and most powerful nation in the world, yet if feels like there are two nations of people living here, warring with eachother, not with guns, but with words. It took something so huge and devestating (9/11) to bring us together, but for how long?

Something interesting, I'd love to hear what everyone thinks.

Although it may seem as though we're ready to fight another civil war.......I personally have no doubt that Americans would be ready, willing and

coming from somewhat of a "peacenik" if my liberty and freedom were threatened I would fight like h3$$ for this country. Believe me, after 9/11 I was horrified. I'm human and I wanted revenge but after I had some time to reflect, I just want us to be smart about our retaliation...but still I knew we had to fight back. All I ask from this war, and any war we have to engage in, is that we be smart and strategic. That we have a clear objective that warrants war etc......
