think this through for a minute, and tell me what you really think...if you have something to support any stats you quote, even better!

thanks!

here's the question....

do you think that JM lost the election, or do you think BO won the election?

why do you think that?

I agree with you that it is sad if some people didn't put in the effort to get to know BO prior to the election, but I think that is true in some cases.

Well then, I stand corrected! : )

But I think a good portion of people were more preoccupied with voting against Bush than for Kerry.

BTW, I voted for Kerry, too. I saw him speak at a rally and I really liked him.

It's always a mix of factors.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure

I think that BO won the election through his campaign of hope and promise and giving encouragement and the promise of change. I think that people responded to hope and to positive campaigning and to rise to the occasion to prove to ourselves that we can be more than we are right now. I think that this country responded to BO's promise and his positive message.

I think that JM's campaign was just further evidence that the majority of this country is tired of fear mongoring as a campaign platform.

hmm...i think... both. i think obama won because he did get a lot of people excited and he ran an excellent campaign.

on the other hand i feel like mccain lost on a very bad note, which, imo, make the loss worse.

considering the past 8 yrs i feel like ANY R would have a really rough time winning this election. but i think the fact than mccains campaign included: palin, suspending it, fundamentals of the ecomony, fear-mongering... i feel like he LOST not only because people are fed up with the current admin (and b/c the like obama), but because he mad bad choices. does that make any sense?

I think Obama won. I think McCain did a pretty impressive job with his campaign. With the exception of selecting Palin as his running mate and not reigning in the crowds negative emotions, he didn't do anything to "lose".
