Democrats have screwed up priorities

i dont get it.

I was reading today about Obama's short term agenda and three things that came up were

1) stop plans to drill for oil in environmentally fragile areas
2) stop the ban on funding of abortion aid in other countries
3) stop ban on stem cell creation and subsequent destroying for research purposes.

WHAT??????

why is the environment and/or animals more important that unborn babies?

many times the liberal agenda is more for the rights of everything EXCEPT unborn kid, eg: baby animals, people on death row, gay rights, etc.

I am not against the rights of those i just listed, i would just include unborn children too, right?? it seems like strange priorities, or hypocritical.

"I am pro-choice. I support allowing others to choose to kill their unborn babies."

You can't be one and not the other.>>

Thank you for sharing your opinion but I wanted to remind you that it is indeed, only an opinion. And as I said in my earlier post, imo you can "be one and not the other".

I am certainly not a liar for saying that I'm against killing babies. I am pro-choice but I am not pro-abortion. There is a difference. I support reproductive rights and a woman's right to choose but I certainly don't

I'm sorry what class do you see drug dealers being in if not lower class.

Same here.

The (conveniently forgotten) fact is that women will have abortions whether they are legal or not. We've already been down that road.

So called "conservative" have had years of control (for 6 years the Republicans controlled Congress and the Presidency) and despite numerous campaign promises to bring abortion to an end, nothing happened. There were a few sensational debates over partial birth abortion (one of those procedures that is sometimes used when the life of the mother is at stake, or the fetus will not be a viable baby), and that was it. Why? Because the abortion issue is too valuable for the Republicans to give up: the availability of legal abortion will always bring out a large bloc of hysterical voters (most of whom, who by the way, have little or no interest in teaching people to control the outcomes of their sexual activity, other by encouraging them to abstain from it altogether) to vote for candidates who claim to be foes of abortion, and thus "pro-life". They're NOT. They withhold funds from third world family planning clinics which offer abortion (in addition to many other reproductive services), magnifying the misery of women who are poor and starving, reducing their access to contraception, thus INCREASING the likelihood that a poor woman will choose abortion to limit family size, in a procedure that could take life. The hypocrisy is astounding.

I am personally adamantly opposed to abortion, except in certain situations (rape, incest, maternal/fetal health), but the inescapable fact is that women WILL have abortions "of convenience" whether they are legal or not, and IMHO if one is TRULY opposed to abortions "of convenience", the ONLY remedy is EDUCATION.

Wouldn't their "class" depend on how good they are at selling the aforementioned drugs? If they are bringing in the big bucks I wouldn't consider them lower class.

>>Abortion is the easy way out. You get to play and you don't have to pay. <<

I can respect your courage in making such a bold statement on a public board.

>>I support reproductive rights and a woman's right to choose but I certainly don't like abortion. I would never insinuate that someone who is a supporter of the war in Iraq is a liar for regretting the loss of lives that have occurred as a result of the war. <<

Interesting comparison, and I agree.
