Do you care at all about candidates' wives?

I started watching these videos about the Republican candidates' wives and thought "Huh, I really don't care much." then quickly realized that it's probably because I don't care for the candidates themselves. Obviously the wives are not the ones who will be running the country, but there is something to be said about who a person chooses for his partner in life.

Must say I do not care for Callista, at all!!!! I would CRINGE if she were to become our first lady...but still be happier if she were there than Mrs Obama.

Dont know much about Mrs Paul, or Mrs Romney....and really only know a little about Mrs Santorum, but the thought to me occurs about Mrs Santorum...as a practicing lawyer, and a former neonatal ICU nurse, if she were only a democrat, wouldnt SHE now possibly be in line to unseat/dethrone Mrs Clinton as the smartest woman ever?

Who said that Mrs. Clinton is/was the "smartest woman ever" in the role of First Lady.

It's important to me to know what causes they stand for and that they are there to support their husbands, instead of there to further their own careers. I think it was made clear by Hillary Clinton that her agenda was political, rather than supportive. Especially when it came out that her husband was running around on her and she stayed with him so she could get into office later on.

What couldn't you stand that Tipper Gore did? Lol about Callista's helmet hair, that hair is just too perfect!

Ha, I never looked at it that way and that's a good point.. There was one interview my husband went on several years ago and he said they did aid ask what "I" did, I don't know if that was over the line but the job would have moved us cross country and I think they might have been just trying to feel him out...

I agree Hillary had some hidden agenda all along.. But many wives have stood by their men too, is it just a coincidence they're always Democrats?

Hillary has a strong personality and it must have sometimes galled her to be seen as an adjunct to Bill. But I'm not sure what her "hidden agenda" was, unless you're referring to her attempts to address the grotesque mess of our health care system.

As regards politicians who cheat, Bob Livingston, Newt Gingrich, Rudolf Giuliani, Mark Foley, Larry Craig, David Vitter, John Ensign, Mark Stanford, Dan Burton and Henry Hyde were all cheats--Republicans. By the "always Democrats" do you mean the cheaters, or their wives?

Add Clinton, John Edwards, Ted Kennedy and JFK, Gary Hart, Spitzer and Weiner, FDR to that pile...
