Do you feel disenfranchised?

The fact that it takes a millionaire with connections to run for President is a continual bug in my saddle. I know it has always been this way..Washington was a weathly land owner, Jefferson the same but it seems worst in the past years than before.

Gore...wealthy. Bush..wealthy. Kerry...wealthy.

Do you think those born with a silver spoon in their mouth like Gore or Bush or Kerry can truly understand the middle class and their needs and wants? Do you think it insulates them too much?

Part of this thought comes from an interview of O'Reilly on the Daily Show. He talked about how politicans are so insulated from the real world by their position and their wealth that the middle class really doesn't stand a chance anymore in getting a voice. We really only get a voice by voting. In my humble opionion, the pickings have been quite slim in the presidential election for the past two elections.

Others might not feel this way but it does make me sad that my son wants to be President and I know he can't unless he is wealthy.

I am trying to make this another non partisan post!!

Is it an issue to you how Kerry, Gore or Bush made their millions or is inherited wealth allright in your book?

If anything, I admire Edwards and Clinton for making their own wealth and not being born into a wealthy family.

It is irritating to me also. I wish we had a one term (7 year) Presidency. The whole presidential election is so draining. It is expensive and it is time wasting for the incumbent. Without the political pressure of being re-elected, perhaps the President can actually get things

This might be the middle class person inside me or the liberal or something but I would really rather have someone leading the country that worked their way to the top of their field. I would like someone that got the best education because of his intelligence not his connections or family money (that stands for Kerry and Gore also). I would like someone that understands the value of hard work, of budgeting, of saving, of doing without and of having ambition. Of course, Kerry and Bush have ambition. Otherwise, they wouldn't have worked their way to where they are today politically. I just want someone with fire in their belly and that fire in their belly made them successes

Well, since you post never made clear what your beef is with Edwards millions, I can't really say. I am in the dark here. Do you not like that Edwards was a mal practice lawyer?

Which cases do you believe he represented that were frivoulous? Which cases do you believe that he accepted as a lawyer to work on that were bogus?

Do you believe he worked on any cases that were actually warranted?
