I was wondering if the internet played a role.

I was thinking, while reading the comments sections of several news publications, how quickly everything from traffic lights to potholes to a terrible murder quickly devolves into hate speech against one group or another.

I wonder if our candor, afforded by the luxury of anonimoty on the net, is spilling over into our everyday speech.

Where we might have held our tongues before, now we use the internet to spew. Perhaps people are getting so comfortable spewing that they are now letting their statements slip out in their real life conversations?

I drew that conclusion by listening to his speeches mainly, and just being an observer of politicians.
