Very tragic, and sad.... I think that if there is just cause for a lawsuit, they should be able to sue, military or not. I don't understand why there is a different set of rules on this for the military. It doesn't make sense.

What in the world makes you think the military doesn't have the necessary means to effectively deal with cases of malpractice and illegal activity?
Have you not heard of the Military Justice System?
It's a voluntary military afterall--nobody is forced to join.
I did start to read it, but after so much "legalese" my brain just sort of shuts down and I don't comprehend a word...

So service members are held to a higher standard BUT recieve a lower standard of treatment ?? That makes sense
