If sexual orientation is protected from discrimination, then why doesn't it extend to our military?

Does anyone know?

Telling someone to suck your ___ is not a joke. You can realease frustration in so many other ways.

Huh?

Why would you bring something irrelevant up like "children" ?

We don't have children in the armed forces. Unless you're one of those over-protective mom types who views their 18-19 year old as a child. But if they're in the military, you might want to stop thinking of them as "children".

Yep, I believe vulgarity makes people look unintelligent and juvenile.

My eldest is 25...but she is still my child, and will always be such.

Is she an adult? You bet...

on a different note, sending off 18 year olds to fight and die should be considered some sort of perversion.

>>There is a difference between generic foul language and suggestive language. The rest of societal work environments have had to change, rooting out such behaviour. It is not acceptable to justify it as a male bastion or refuge.<<

No other job on earth is like the military so IRT crude language I am defiantly going to cut them some slack. We are dealing with individuals who are isolated for long periods of time under high stress circumstances. They can't do what a person in a normal job can to relieve the stress.

When I have a bad day at work I can come home and vent, go for a run after work, go with my kids to the park to relax or even have sex to redirect all that negative energy into something positive. These men and women do not have those options so to expect them to adhere to the same rules civilians do is ridiculous. They have to have somewhere to let the steam of and often their mouth is the only option so of course not everything coming out of it is going to be PC.

>>I see... so we allow a *supposedly* disciplined force to run roughshod over other's rights, on the pretext of 'boys will be boys'?<<

Not at all the girls are given just as much latitude on crudely running their mouths.
