If sexual orientation is protected from discrimination, then why doesn't it extend to our military?

Does anyone know?

There is a gay themed movie with a scene I love (I don't like the movie ending, but I like this part) where a lesbian couple are in the exploratory stages of a relationship, and are in a bar chatting. Two guys hit on them, and the two women decide to have some fun with the guys, raising the subject of why guys are turned on by two women having sex.

The two guys eyes light up at the thought, and they start reeling off responses, all while the two women are being rather frolicsome under the table. I laugh every time I see that scene.

What do you mean by "deviant sexual practices"? So far it's only been mentioned that gay soldiers should be able to discuss their loved ones or to display photos of their SO. Nobody has suggested

**Gay barracks. It's the only solution.**

Not necessarily. I trust that the officers charged with making and implementing policy can come up with some solution that is equitable and respectful of all.

Soldiers are trained to KILL the enemy. Not be forced to cohabitate with them!

There is a difference between "being afraid" and being "disgusted"

Are you serious?? I would like to think our service members are a lot more enlightened then you give them credit for. This isn't the 90's.

The debatable point was over whether or not members of the united states armed forces were "scared" of homosexuals.

The accusation was that servicemembers supposedly "brave enough to fight an enemy" were too scared to cohabitate with gay servicemembers.

I stated that such comparison made no sense.

LMBO-- Did everyone part out of fear they would "catch it"?

The other choice would be mixed barracks not based on gender. As you stated if sexual attraction is not an issue then mixed barracks shouldn't be an issue which we know it would be. Why anyone would think it would be an issue in one case but not in another is what makes no sense.
