I read this article on the Reader's Digest website and I found it really interesting.

Other factors are at play as well. For starters, the media elite, especially in Europe, tends to be liberal, and its news coverage of the U.S. election reflects this slant. The upshot is that the ordinary Dutchman or Englishwoman—or Indonesian, for that matter—receives a steady diet of positive Obama coverage. Also, in fairness to the GOP nominee, the Republican party is organized around a set of conservative attitudes and principles that are distinctly American in nature.

I'm not surprised to see Obama doing so well around the world.

Well and think of "mad" dictators who want him to win - Mahmoud Ahmineedofajob, Hugo "Caesar" Chavez, etc. LOL You've made a good point that Americans views are different than European views.

...those around the world wouldn't care who the candidate was for the Democrats, they just want the Republicans out of power.

That's pretty sad, but I'm sure it's another reason the world wants Obama.

In contrast to some of the PP, I feel that our global image is very important.

I live in the heart of farmworker territory, we know our Chavez's.

Actually, the first time I say that Obama video with all the stars doing voiceovers of his words and the refrain of "yes we can" I thought of Cesar Chavez -- the UFW always have marched with "Si, se pueda" -- yes, we can -- as their call.

I live in San Antonio. I definitely know who he is. I'm just tired. Thanks for pointing that out.
