Ok, obviously there will be some impact if this does happen, but the way this is getting covered on the big news networks is ridiculous, imo. They're practically frothing at the mouth. Anyway ... do you think the average person really cares so much about this or is this more about politics than anything? I'm not sure if it's really going to happen and if it does, I give it a few days for dramatic effect and then a deal will happen. What do you think?

Why don't you add the whole story? The Republicans voted down a bill yesterday that would have funded the military. They then turned around and voted for a bill that would fund the military as well as added a bunch of riders that they knew wouldn't get passed. Obama most certainly would have signed the first bill. It's readily apparent that the Republicans have gone off the rails and are playing games with people's lives and livelihoods.

That's a load of bull. I'm in a right to work state and that's not stopping Republicans from targeting unions AND the people who work in areas where there are unions (for example, teachers) regardless of whether the people are actually in a union or not.

Let's also not forget that Boehner wouldn't even put a bill up for a vote (that had already been passed in the Senate) that would have stopped Congress and the President from being paid....

He didn't want to put the bill up that passed the Senate because he said the House had their own bill (even though the one from the House was filled with many other things that would keep it from passing while the Senate one was only about Congresses pay).
