Gun Control Law Fails

Obama needed 60 votes to get his gun control bill to pass the Senate, but only had 54 votes (41 republicans and 5 democrats voted no).

The White House said that 90% of Americans supported expanding background checks and that the Senate wasn't performing the will of the people and "shame, shame, shame!"  As long as we're throwing out false statistics, 90% of Americans didn't want Obamacare, so the will of the people wasn't done then either.

Don't you know what you are talking about?  What is this about protecting children?  Clips?  very few guns use clips since the Grand of WW2.  No these people lied to you.  They want to steal guns and make sure you can't defend yourself effectively.

And what has this administration done for abortion rights?

Just more lies from the left in their ongoing assault on our Constitutional rights.  The FACT is that 90+% of guns sold in the US are already sold with background checks, and gun violence has fallen dramatically over the past few decades...so the Democrats bill is just another example of shameful political theater using grieving families and dead children as props.

As far as large clips are concerned...another bit of ridiculousness.  Most gun crimes involve less than five bullets, and in the case of mass shootings, which are extremely rare, there is no evidence that reducing the size of the clips would have done anything to hamper the gunman or save a single life.  The same with stupid attempts to ban certain kinds of guns...since the VAST number of crimes are committed with handguns.

Again, nothing of substance and nothing that will do anything to actually prevent tragedies like Sandy Hook.

Drug testing for TANF is, however, a good idea if people are using their funds to buy drugs instead of food...and ultrasounds only let the woman see the life she's about to destroy.  Why would you object to giving a woman all the facts before she makes a life and death decision?

Shameful, a signal this country cares more about guns than children. In fact, a minority of zealots oppose reasonableness. No one is trying to take away guns, only ban certain types, large clips, and institute full background checks. If we can't live with those rules, something is wrong, and there is.

The same folks who say none of these rules think nothing of proposing transvaginal ultrasounds and drug testing for TANF and UI recipients.

This speaks more of special interest stranglehold and Washington then much else.   Disturbing trend though.
