There is the state agency, but it is very difficult to get help from them because they are severely understaffed. For someone without insurance in this state, it's extremely difficult to access mental health services on a sliding scale or free.

What does low cost mean and what should it cost IYO? Are there no public agencies for mental health help? Catholic charities offers services and I know their costs have a sliding scale. Our insurance plan accepts mental health care providers with a small co-pay like regular medical care. There are hotlines too.

It must depend on the state. Trying to plug people/families into low cost mental health services here is virtually impossible unless there is an immediate danger to self or others.

In my state, low cost mental health care is virtually nonexistent due to massive cuts to the program. This is not a state to live in if one is uninsured and mentally ill. I think it really depends on the state.

Sure, we all want our children to share our values.

Because its possible she'll be considering an abortion, the subject of the prior post?

Really? I though the only ultimate sin was rejecting Holy Spirit, and that all other sins of men could be forgiven, Mark 3 and Matthew 12. I'll not sure what "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone" has to do with God turning away from sinners. I thought that meant we are all sinners, and he can forgive us for our sins. Did I miss something?

It's all nice and sparkly and wonderful in families where unconditional love is the norm.

Why would I have to remind my kid of the church's position on the issue when s/he already knows? And did God turn away from sinners.. You without sin cast the first stone is one of my favorite bible verses..... It's a shame families don't talk, PP avails themselves so they don't have to I guess.
