So there have been quite a few posts on here about race and how it plays into the presidential race (or doesn't). As a graduate student, I was introduced to research done on peoples' implicit associations with all kinds of things from race to poverty to age to being overweight. Harvard has a very cool website where you can check out your own implicit associations (associations you have with different traits without being fully conscious of it) at their website: https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/demo/featuredtask.html

It's not a partisan thing. The research has been on-going for several years now. The hope is that if people realize they have implicit associations that may affect their behavior, they can consciously counter-act prejudices they may have.

Let me know what you think if you try it! I'm going to do the election one right now.

Your data suggests a slight automatic preference for Barack Obama over John McCain

Your data suggest no difference in your automatic associations between Christian on the one hand and Barack Obama and John McCain on the other

Your data suggest no difference in your automatic associations ...apparently i didnt copy and paste it correctly...but this statement was the previous one, only replacing "christian" with "american"

I did just the presidential preference test (I'll go back and do the others later), and it said I had a slight automatic preference for Obama over McCain.

I'm glad you liked it! I think it's really cool stuff. I posted the link for all of the demo tests they offer and may try the race one next. I may register for the research site though and see what they require as far as personal information.

Your data suggests a moderate automatic preference for Barack Obama over John McCain

Your data suggests a much stronger automatic association between Christian and Barack Obama, compared to John McCain

I am somewhat surprised at the stronger association of Christian and American to Obama.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure
