Was anyone disgusted by McCain's debate moment, where apparently in his world, women's "health" is "extreme"?

And an article on his women's health/issues record:

I really didn't want to get into this debate because I'm in the grey area with regards to abortion, but I completely understood what McCain meant.

Nope, it's about time someone said it. He is correct.

I made hubby pause the DVR so that I could yell at the TV. It was a smug attitude and showed little sympathy for the realities that many families face.

Yes, Mr. McCain, some men are told that there is a chance that it could come down to a choice between saving an unborn child and saving a wife. Sometimes, a mother doesn't have the "luxury" of losing a non-viable fetus before she ever sees the heartbeat. Instead, she has the heartbreaking task of saying goodbye late in the pregnancy. Other moms are faced with the heartwrenching decision to let a baby be born alive and live only a few weeks in excrutiating pain, or terminate the pregnancy.

Its one thing to disagree, but to dismiss the health of the mother as unimportant because some reinterpret the term does not mean that those who suffer and those who are at risk don't face real jeopardy. It's just another example of the "one bad apple" attitude that keeps the base nice and riled and focused on that "bad apple", while simultaneously impeding any real progress for this country.

This is why I think the whole abortion issue needs to be a woman's choice.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure

>>There have been cases of pba where the woman's mental health was used as a determining factor, or her health was in danger but not imminent danger.<<

And I suppose you were privy to all the facts surrounding each woman's choice?

"And I yelled so loudly when I heard McCain call it the 'pro-abortion movement' I scared my cat!"

Hey, now, I think it's *great* if McCain want's to take on the teach-abstinence-only-and-restrict-birth-control faction.

Arrgh! I cannot stand that man! His constant blinking and his tone of voice drives me bonkers. He is just so out of touch with the average person ,too.
