Was anyone disgusted by McCain's debate moment, where apparently in his world, women's "health" is "extreme"?

And an article on his women's health/issues record:

It is not for him to decide, it is for a DOCTOR and the MOTHER to decide.

If the gov. isn't involved you would be able to find a doctor to say you can have a pba. I don't only mean a doctor's "okay" you can have one, but a doctor's medical reasoning too. I think that the gov. should make PBA only if medically necessary not for convience, convience ends at 3 months. I would never have an abortion unless medically necessary but I think it should still be available to those that do want them because I am no fool, I saw dirty dancing a million times, I know that people would be doing what happened on there if abortions were illegal. I think if birth control were readily available for women it wouldn't be so easy to get pregnant either, I am on the pill but of course to skip sometimes. It would be very convience for me to just take the Plan B pill when I do skip just to make sure, but when I call the pharmacies to see if they have it, bc now it is supose to be over the counter, they don't carry it. They people talking on the phone with me are treating me like I am some tramp bc I want this but they are also the same people who smiled in my face when I went to fill my birth control which IMOO is the same thing. I have chosen between keeping my baby or having an abortion. I chose to have my child, which is a hard choice when you are only 20, in college, and have a 1 year old already. I couldn't bear to give her up, but I have to respect the womens choice to chose bc I know how hard it is and if someone can't handle it, I wouldn't make them.

I agree with you 100% on the "convienence abortions" I find it to be appalling to use it as a method of birth control! I worked with this woman who told me she had 5 abortions! She finally met a man she married. Guess what? she had a lot of difficulty getting pregnant and staying pregnant! Was this God's punishment to her? Anyway, she finally did have alittle boy she named Dakota. She nicknamed him "Ishkabibble" Anyway, about 4 years ago, she died of ovarian cancer at age 46.

This is so true. I worked as a nursing assistant in a nursing home. There was this young woman age 26. She was warned not to become pregnant since she had a heart condition and it could place undue stress on her heart. Well, she did become pregnant, She I believe had a c-section as not to stress her heart during labor. Things seemed to be going fine, her little boy was 3 when she had a heart attack and her Dh found her turning blue in their family room. He was making supper for them when he heard his young son yelling Mommie, Mommie wake up! She was rushed to the hospital, she remained in a coma for several months and then she died. This whole thing totally blew me away. I felt so bad for the little boy and her DH.
