Rick Santorum has a knack for sounding antediluvian.

Wow, what a glaring example of completely misconstruing what someone wrote.

Frankly, I think that fury over Santorum's comments is entirely justified. It's not very "amusing" to think that women could be told they no longer can use IUD's or take the Pill because of either Santorum's religious attitudes or because of the "personhood" bills being pushed in various state legislatures. If you're following news stories, then you are presumably aware of that possibility.

Gas prices are rising due to world market demand, speculation, and uncertainty about saber-rattling in the Middle East. Jon Stewart had a truly "amusing" bit concerning a talking points memo from the RNC to, “.....'mitigate any damage that may be occurring from the improved economy.' It advised pundits to focus on national debt, unemployment and rising gas prices." Even more amusing--one Fox character READ the list while broadcasting. http://www.mediaite.com/tv/jon-stewart-blasts-fox-news-rooting-for-america-to-fail-since-november-2008/ Ah, me.

What would you have Obama do? Drill everywhere? Won't change the gas prices tomorrow! Bomb Iran? That would REALLY send pump prices soaring and cost us far far far more than pump dollars! Release oil from the strategic reserve? That's for the sake of an emergency and IF he did do that, you can bet a substantial amount of money that he'd be accused of rigging public sentiment for the sake of winning in November. Or maybe you have another different idea.......

I personally think it's time to wean ourselves away from both use and perception of fossil fuel products as the answer to our energy needs.

It's deliberate. Hoping for an emotional response. I believe that's the modus operandi of a troll.

That's pretty much the case. Too bad iVillage doesn't put a stop to that kind of nonsense. Things have been going pretty well over here with people respectfully disagreeing and then someone decides to throw a "bomb" in mix. Yep, definitely the definition of a troll.

I asked this question before and I'll ask it again...just what do you think a president can do to alleviate gas prices?

Take a look for yourself. They are indeed two separate entities with two separate platforms.

In the short term there isn't a whole lot he could do short term other than lower federal gas tax (which isn't going to be a big help but every dime counts at these prices), increase supply by opening up the strategic reserve (which

Actually, majority rule is not necessarily a hallmark of a just and fair democracy, nor does majority rule mean that a subset of the population isn't subjected to repressive or unethical "majority" laws.
