He's nailing people on social security, medicare, medicaid, TANF, fuel assistance, educational assistance, and so on. He's nailing half the country, and ignoring the fact the other half is also dependent on goverrnment, because we all are. Not one isn't, and the more you make the more you are, it just isn't as obvious.

That is his problem. He can't see his own entitlement, he can't see how he's benefited from government. He looks down his nose at others who have a floor put under them by government, even though most contributed towards the assistance they receive at some point in their lives.

The man is bitter because he knows he's losing the election.

The Gop is using misstatements that are not understood.  47% don't pay taxes is not correct.  The truth is that 53% get refunds. They paid taxes but because they got refunds they are not counted.  Yes Romney wants to take away all the safety net and have people work in old age.

And they pay other taxes as well. The disdain in his voice is just astounding. I've not seen a thing like this in my 57 years. I'd imagine every president since FDR would roundly condemn his sentiment.

It sounded to me like a pre-concession speech. Romney is already explaining his poor showing at the poll........

Hmm... must be two recordings out there. I haven't heard the one that the liberals are hearing.

"Resist, we much. We must, and we much. About that, be committed."

I don't hear any "bitter" in his words.  He is telling the truth, but the way the left has reacted, it seems they think Romney was stating his utter disdain for the people who don't pay taxes and are used to government handouts.  Hogwash!!!  He is running a campaign of smaller government and what he is stating is that he is going to have an extremely difficult  time reaching the people who don't pay taxes and rely on government handouts and will vote for Obama no matter what.

He was simply being honest by stating which segment of the voting public he needed to reach, if he has a chance of winning this election.  But it shows the desperation of the left in trying to spin this in a negative way.

Me either, it's simply the truth, what's the big deal? Meanwhile 16 trillion in debt, QE3 has been implemented, the slide continues and the fiddler fiddles.

I don't think there's any particular "desperation" from Obama's supporters. Romney seems to be doing a fine, fine, fine job of making the case against .........wait for it........Romney.

As for the "bitter" characterization, to each her/his own. It's just as "true" as the claim that 47% of the nation doesn't "take personal responsibility or care for their lives". There's an interesting piece in the Guardian which dissects the numbers. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/sep/18/romneys-47-percent-us-election?newsfeed=true

Romney's reputation is ALREADY that of a man seriously out of touch with how hoi polloi live and work. He just reinforced that image again and his cavalier dismissal of needing to inspire (to vote) and lead those hoi polloi is more than a little worrisome. All Romney can offer is freedom from taxes? I am underwhelmed, and apparently am not the only one......

Joe Scarborough on the Today Show finished his take on the video with a sardonic comment that he was about to "go put a plastic bag over my head".

Is there a study I am unaware of that proves Romney's statement that virtually all of the Obama supporters get government handouts? Is there a study that shows how many republican voters receive government handouts?

Maybe if those who could afford the $50,000 a plate dinner would pay a liveable wage, we wouldn't have as many getting government assistance, democrat or republican.

Yes... and now this: On Israel, Romney Trashes Two-State Solution

Mit, the one who claims Obama can't lead, says: "These are problems—these are very hard to solve, all right?"

He offers no plans on anything, won't reveal his taxes, and says he won't even try in the Middle East. Yeah, what leadership. What an embarrassment for the right.
