I'm not trying to be smart, or snarky, or anything like that.

<< -i dont think the sole purpose is to fund another's pockets.

I never said it was the sole purpose, but it's an additional purpose that is unnecessary.

I understand that you may not particularly mean me but when you say "you" it appears as though you are in fact referring to me. Like your comment below -

I don't think there is a fundamental goal to PUNISH the rich for their wealth, just as I don't necessarily believe that McCain's plan is designed to PUNISH the working poor.

Wouldn't this argument apply to entire progressive tax scale?

-according to the chart that is being thrown around, it seems like the people who are earning $600,000+ will see an increase

i have a beef with this, i saw this statement elsewhere today too.....where is that chart? because i heard BO say himself a few times that $250 was the number...did he change?

I think punishment is a matter of perspective.

i am not clear what you are talking about specifically.....

sure there are inequalities...always will be

idk what you mean re corporate tax...

the mortage bailout.......

i don't know it as well as some, but it seems that some have not....want to haves..but shouldn't haves...became Haves when they shouldn't have, and bailed on the responsibility....putting everyone else in danger...the bailout protects everyone...but IMO was casused by irresponsible people...

people took on loans they couldn't afford, because they wanted something they weren't prepared to have....irresponsible....and when the stuff hit the fan, they bailed...

and the people who pushed them in that direction, and offered them more than the could afford...that was irresponsible...

and who pays for it...everyone

Americans need to act more responsibly, be more responsible for thier actions, be prepared, don't procure what can't be afforded.
