If doctors are not trained to perform D&Cs or D&Es, they are unable to provide adequate health care to women. That's a fact.

I agree that this won't pass through the Senate nor will Obama sign anything that is going to restrict access to adequate health care to women. You are wrong, though, in that federal funding is used in teaching hospitals where residents receiving their training, so should this be passed, it most certainly would affect adequate training for those physicians.

It's not likely that the Senate will approve passage. But the concern is about politicians sticking their noses into academia (medical, in this case) and making really idiotic pronouncements about what's "moral" and what's not; seemingly without knowing the ramifications of their insistence on their "values".

Since the bill passed the House, if Republicans manage to win the Senate in the future. there's a possibility that the legislation or something similar to it could become law........eventually.

As far as women voting or driving, your response is flippant. The mere fact of the bill being written in the first place is proof that the erosion of a woman's rights, reproductive or otherwise, are ongoing. And the "hysteria" adjective just doesn't sound the right note, IMHO.

There are still places in the world where women are treated as second class citizens or chattel. http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Backchannels/2011/0523/Saudi-woman-drives-goes-to-jail And it's been less than a hundred years since women got suffrage in the U.S.

I've been able to find none. Remember, you are the one who seems to think that all this money is going to for-profit teaching hospitals.

Yes. They have absolutely no business dictating what physicians should and should not learn. It's apparent that they have no clue.

*** I got a kick out of the "free to do research" wording which was immediately followed by qualifiers about the nature of that "freedom".
